A good customer strategy is important to the success of any business, but are comapnies making the best use they can out of their customer data?

Little, if anything, is more important in business than having a good customer strategy, which, in today's world, requires sifting through reams of data, having the right technology and keeping IT systems in tiptop shape. Failure to attend to these requirements equals diminished returns.

Solution providers can have a significant impact on how their customers use the data collected from their own customers by providing the services, applications and equipment to do it effectively.

Solutions in sales force automation, analytics and improved Web sites can go a long way toward putting customers on the right track.

And as a survey by CIO Insight, a sister publication of eWeek Strategic Partner, suggests, the need is significant. Companies may be squandering considerable business opportunities by failing to use and make sense of the information they collect regarding their customers.
